Challenge : The client, a global leader in mergers and acquisition advice and securities underwriting was in a situation where their internal audit department had reached a plateau and the quality of work being performed by the department was in a state of flux.

Solution : A Deblankson consultant was able to assist the client to develop and roll out a new Internal Audit Execution Methodology. They were involved in the documentation of this new methodology and they were instrumental in the eventual roll of the policy, which include training for the auditors within the Internal Audit department.

Benefits : The new methodology was well received by the department and there was a noticeable improvement in the quality of work being performed by the department. This was evidenced by an increase in quality assurance (QA) result and commendations from the external regulators who performed a review of the department shortly after the methodology was bedded in.
